GIBSON (nee BLACK) Halifax, Nova Scotia

I have newspaper cutting of the death of Mrs S. L. GIBSON in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

She died aged 91, but unfortunately the cutting has neither the date or the name of the newspaper on it or .

Could anyone suggest a newspaper archive where I might find the original.

Her husband was called Stewart Lockie GIBSON

(Bearing in mind that the initials could have been her husband's), here are some records from the IGI on-line... you might want to check and see if any of the relations named match yours.

The IGI is a source to be verified, not trusted blindly. It accepts uploaded trees from anyone, and family trees are notorious for "wishful thinking" and undocumented assumptions.

I hadn't thought about looking on IGI for her death.

I know that she died after 1940 as the newspaper cutting refers to her husband's death. Her maiden name was Muriel Longfellow BLACK.

Off to look at IGI now.

I found some information on Stewart Lockie Gibson. Stewart was born Apr. 12, 1876 in Peebles Scotland. His parents were James Gibson and his mother`s maiden name Lockie (did not give a first name).

Stewart died on Oct. 25, 1940 of a heart attack
He lived at 29 Connaught Ave. in Halifax
He was buried in (something) Hill St.John New Brunswick. He lived in Halifax for 15 years and he worked as a Ship Keeper.

Thank you so much for resurrecting this thread after such a long time.

I knew about Stewart's birth and parentage but not the exact date or cause of death. I didn't have the exact marriage date either.

Could you give me the source for your information?

Are these people in your family tree? If so perhaps we could exchange some more information.
